More about this coffee and its origins
Burundi Rwiri Natural | Specialty Coffee
Founded in 2007 by the Yagikawa Cooperative, the Rwiri Washing Station connects hundreds of smallholder farmers, whose farms are typically smaller than 1 hectare, helping them to combine their efforts to produce outstanding specialty lots like this one.
In the local Kirundi language, the cooperative’s name, “Yagikawa”, means “talk about coffee”, and reflects the co-op’s focus on community, quality and shared knowledge.
Grown at around 1800m, this lot features the Bourbon variety and was dried with the whole cherry intact, on raised beds for about 13 days.
